b. GUIDE to clean living through the ‘party season’
It’s the end of year party season and a massive buzz in the air, drinks to be drunk, music to dance too, outfit options and summer time vibes.
So how do you remain happy, healthy and energized throughout the season without over eating, over drinking and over spending (sorry can’t help you on this one…guilty).
My top ten tips for the PARTY SEASON
- DO eat from platters that have fresh food options- choose sushi, fruit, raw vegetables, chicken sticks, grilled food options, salads and nuts.
- AVOID – cheeses, dips, biscuits, cakes, pastries, battered food, crumbed food and breads.
- DO drink vodka based low sugar drinks if you plan on drinking alcohol and always drink water in between.
TIP BY b. – When I am out – I actually prefer to drink fresh cocktails (espresso martinis are my fave) and then have coconut water in between drinks. Drinking is expensive everywhere now and therefore I believe drinking high quality pretty drinks allows me to drink less and enjoy the drink more. Drinking coconut water or sparkling water in between drinks balances off the alcohol and looks chic as…
- AVOID drinking high sugar alcoholic drinks or pre-packaged beverages.
- DO dance and move around as much possible.
- AVOID sitting and watching – instead join in and get amongst it.
- DO say only positive things about others – ears hear a lot in these situations. Remain professional and well mannered!
- AVOID getting caught in controversy – whether it be a conversation, or somebodies actions during the year.
- DO dress in appropriate party clothing – remember choose one best part of your body to shine – either legs or cleavage.
- AVOID dressing in the ‘TOO’ – which means too short of a skirt, too much cleavage, too much make up, too much heel, too much skin, too many cut outs or too much tan.

Sooo agree with this. Fell into the trap of nibbling on the fried stuff at the end of year staff do and was amazed at how crap I felt the next day.
My go-to no-alcohol beverage is a large soda water with a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime. My personal ‘rule’ is no alcohol until I have eaten something. Starting to drink on an empty stomach usually means I lose some of my self control, which may lead to poor choices of food, drink or party conversation. I’ve taken to make sure I have a protein based snack before the event.
